THERMASTRATE unveils circuit-on-AlSiC product at PCIM 2009
Newcastle upon Tyne, May 6, 2009

Thermastrate is unveiling its latest product development effort at this year’s PCIM show. Leveraging its proven Ultratherm® and Flexitherm® technologies, Thermastrate’s AlSiC based Circuit-on-Heatsink™ product combines extremely high thermal conductivity with the  low coefficient of thermal expansion advantages of the AlSiC alloy substrate.

Particularly   the advantage  when us ed with high power, high temperature electronic  and semiconductor devices,  is that AlSiC (aluminium silicon carbide  alloy) more closely matches the coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the more common aluminium alloy substrate materials . By applying its proven Circuit-on-Heatsink™ technology, Thermastrate can now deliver its superior thermal performance of up to 124 W/mK on AlSiC substrates.

 As with its other products, Thermastrate is able to directly circuitise flat substrates or complex 3D heatsink shapes. This not only lowers the overall system cost but also simplifies the customers’ manufacturing and assembly processes, and increases system reliability.
